Salvation

The living God comes in Jesus Christ to save. By God's Holy Spirit, through our faith, this salvation becomes a reality in our lives.

The Bible is a story of good news, bad news, good news.

The first good news is that God created all things and called them good. God created humans in God's image to be in relationship with God and represent God.

So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. ...God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good. (Genesis 1:27, 31)

The bad news is that we rebel against God, turn away from God and fail to fulfill God's purpose for us. This is sin and it separates us from God, from each other and from ourselves.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

The second good news is that God does not leave us alone in sin. God comes to us to forgive us, set us free and give us new life.

God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. (2 Corinthians 5:19)

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:8-10)

We invite you to believe the good news, turn to God and receive the gift of salvation God offers. Pray something like this: "God, I need you. I need your help. Please forgive me. Thank you that Jesus lived and died and rose again to give me new life. I receive the gift of salvation from you. Come and live in me. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you. Amen."

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. (Colossians 2:6-7)
