John Hiller is the Senior Pastor at First United Methodist Church Durant/Caddo. Before coming to Durant he was the associate pastor at Centenary UMC in Lawton, OK. He was ordained as an Elder at the 2024 Oklahoma Annual Conference. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Oklahoma City University in 2016 and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School in 2020. During his time at Duke he took an interest in Wesleyan studies and Methodist history, writing about the history of Methodist conferences in America, and contemporary General Conference.
John grew up in Ringling, OK. He worked summers during college at Crosspoint Camp in Kingston, OK as a lifeguard/ropes course facilitator. John currently serves as the Chair of the Crosspoint Site Development Committee.
John met his wife Hannah while they were at OCU and together they attended Duke Divinity. Hannah grew up in Tulsa, OK and has worked with non-profits and most recently as a library associate for community engagement at the Lawton Public Library. They have a 18-month-old son, Wesley.
John and Hannah enjoy playing with Wesley and cooking. Wesley likes to bring us books and will sometimes sit still long enough for us to read to him. John enjoys playing disc golf and is a runner and chess player.
