John Breon

John sees the goal of ministry as helping people come to know Christ and grow so that every part of life is lived in relationship to Christ. Prior to Durant, John served churches in Eufaula, Beaver and Helena, OK, as well as Mt. Vernon and Platte Woods, MO. He is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and Perkins School of Theology. He earned the Doctor of Ministry Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary.

John's wife, Nancy Breon, has taught music in elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as working in a variety of other positions. The Breons are the parents of three children: Rachel Myers and her husband Zach, Eric Breon, and Eli Breon. In 2017, the Breons became grandparents with the birth of Charlie Myers.

NextGen Pastor

Tim Ford

Tim Ford

worked in student ministry as a leader for over 14 years at Covenant United Methodist Church, located in Greenville, NC. He studied graphic design at East Carolina University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Arts/Graphic Design in 1997. He worked for 15 years in Advertising as an art director and won many art awards. He taught at the local community college as an illustration teacher and was Creative Director in the student ministry at Covenant Church for the 6 years.

Since 1998, Tim worked as a leader at Covenant Student Ministries. Over his time in student ministry, the Holy Spirit has equipped him for various roles such as teaching large groups, Sunday school teacher, small group leader, game leader, drama team leader, creative director, stage director, and vision caster. Tim has organized, scheduled, and planned events for students and has been on teams building messages and programs that are relevant in student lives.

He has watched and learned from a handful of youth pastors over the years who have had many styles of leadership. That leadership has set the stage for growth in the Junior and Senior High Ministries at Covenant. Because of his years in student ministry loving on students, he has been able to gain the experience needed for this position. However, even with all of his experience he gives all of the credit to what Jesus has done in him and through him.

Of all these things, Tim would say his marriage to his beautiful bride Shelly and his amazing two Kids Michael (25) and Amanda (18) were truly a gift and blessing from God. His favorite restaurant is Mongolian style barbecue. His favorite national chain is Chick-fil-a. And, his favorite junk food is ice cream, and Twizzlers. We are so pleased to have Tim on staff at First United Methodist, Durant and Caddo Campuses.

Children's Director

Kim Vincent

Kim knew at an early age that she wanted to work with children.  She believes that the most powerful way to preserve the future of our church and country is by providing a sound Christian foundation for today’s children.  She hopes to impress upon them the love of Christ that she grew up knowing and still leans on today.

Kim taught elementary school for six years at Silo ISD.  She gained a Masters degree in elementary education at East Central University and a Bachelors degree in psychology from Austin College.  Kim has been married to James since May of 2005.  James works as a Park Ranger at Lake Texoma.  They have a daughter named Molly.  Kim brings new ideas, new energy, new goals to a fantastic children's program.  Your child will be in the best hands available in today's world.
